Time Is Not Long. It Is Constantly Passing and Waits On No one.
Every Blessing Counts
We are now living in a time where every single blessing and ounce of happiness that we have should be appreciated to the fullest because it is becoming less and less. Every breath we take, every step we are blessed to be able to take, every morsel of safe and tasty food, every minute that we can smile, talk, hear, and move….all of it should be appreciated. This is the lesson of appreciation that I am constantly learning now as each day passes. I don’t have to look like the next woman, there is no competition. It’s a blessing just to be who God created me to be because he does not make mistakes.
The Important Things
I don’t do manicures, pedicures, wear makeup, dress fancy all of the time or any of that. I love taking care of my body and my mind. I love doing things that help other people; not just my family. I feel blessed when I hear one of my elders share words of wisdom because it is always something that I am going to need down the line or sooner. I am okay with not being rich. I am okay with just the way I am because everyday that the lord helps me grow older is a chance to improve myself on the right order.
Blessings vs. Distractions
The point of saying all of this is this: It seems that the time for stunning or showing off, vanity, temporary happiness, caring about what other people think instead of what is really important, and etc. has passed now. It’s time now to adjust to the times that we are living in which are hard and sometimes draining. We have to keep our minds healthy and strong first; then our bodies will follow. I do believe in what the bible says “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” If we think weak we will be weak. If we think we are beautiful just the way God made us, then we will be and not just to ourselves but to others as well. It really is all about perception. If we can have a clear perception of what’s important for ourselves and our lives, we can survive in this cold world. There are so many distractions being thrown at us everyday and when I stop to think about it, I realize, those distractions are just stumbling blocks getting in the way of our goals. They’re just blocking our blessings and taking our focus away from things that are actually going to benefit us.
Time To Focus On What’s Important
There is a time to laugh, cry, smile, frown, be happy, be sad, and etc. Right now I believe it is time for us all as mothers, fathers, parents, families, communities, and as the human race in general to wake up and get our focus back. Whatever happiness we want we can still have but ….so, I taught my children something: There is a time to work and there is a time to play. Once you get old enough to get a job or have a responsibility, take care of your responsibility first, do your job first, and then afterwards, enjoy yourself and take time out for yourself because at that point in time, you will have earned it. Well, from my point of view (and this is just my personal opinion and observation), it’s that time for us now. If we waste our time not preparing to make sure that we know how our families are going to eat, how we are going to be able to sustain and survive without doing anything wrong, we will basically be like sitting ducks waiting for whatever next disaster to fall on us. I rather focus and be more prepared; doesn’t mean panic is necessary, just focus and clarity. Sometimes we have to drown out the sadness and madness so that we can see our path more clear and successfully reach our goals in life. I thank God for the clarity and pray he continues to help me focus on things that are more important to benefit me and my family. Times are hard everyone but trouble don’t last always.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday, is being kind, staying safe, and staying alive.
